STOURBRIDGE BRANCH - MARCH 2016
Malcolm's Report
Malcolm's report for February:
Another Good attendance at the February meeting although the weather was not too warm which effects branch supporters who travel any distance not knowing what will happen on the return journey. The performance of those who attended was first class, like Blake and his presentation song that he writes and sings to George's tunes. Then there was those who dressed for the number that featured "I like a Ride on Your Bicycle" which was from the Max Miller collection. She is a virtuoso performer now. Other performers Sam and John, Christine, Graham from Bridgnorth, Roy, Matthew, Joe, Alan and myself all contributed to a good evening of entertainment at the Ashwood Inn, Bell Lane, Wordsley. Many thanks to Chris Miller, Landlord who allows us use of the function room, also many thanks to Christine and Dave for the use of the PA equi8pment. Hope Bernard Francis and Bob Elwell get better soon.
See you all at he next meeting.

Turned Out Nice Again
Malcolm' report for March:
The meeting was very well attended. It was great to see Gabriela from her recent visit to America where the George Formby name was not so well known, even though the uke is, but Gabriela soon put that right and played several George Formby numbers which they all liked. Steve Evans informed me that his father Dennis was not too well so we all wish him a speedy recovery. I have been trying to get in contact with him on the phone but the area code has changed and I have no idea what it is so can you let me know? What talented artistes there are at the Stourbridge Branch. It's a short report this month, they will get longer as the time goes on, so many thanks, to Chris from the Ashwood for allowing the use of the room and Christine and David for the PA use and Matthew and Geoff for the backing, also thank you for all attending. Before I forget Bernard, our former washboard player, would have had his birthday by the time you receive this report, so everyone wish Bernard a Happy Birthday.
Well that's all for now (see you at the April Branch Meeting.

PS - I have found another music shop in Stourbridge, Lower High Street. It is Pete Bodice who is a popular figure on the stringed instruments, including vintage ones. It's well worth a visit (it is located above his wife's antique shop).
